  Opening a second app from home claimed zone 1 unconditionally once it existed, so both apps shared one workspace and placement.rs split that zone top/bottom. The home path now checks occupancy the same way the non-home path does; an occupied neighbour mints a fresh zone instead of dividing the first one.
